How to read these

Same fixture, no tear-out

Every pair below is one real Sunnyvale fixture, shot from the same angle before and after we resurfaced it. Nothing here was torn out and swapped for a new unit. We repaired the chips and rust, prepped the surface to bond, and sprayed acrylic-urethane — the heavy cast-iron tub, the molded fiberglass shower, the porcelain sink all stayed exactly where they sat. We've grouped the pairs by the five surfaces we resurface most: a cast-iron tub, a fiberglass shower stall, a porcelain sink, a laminate vanity counter and a tub-surround tile wall. Each one comes from a different Sunnyvale neighborhood, because the housing here runs the full range — apartment fiberglass in the north, vintage porcelain in the older bungalows near downtown. What the after shots don't show

A clean after photo hides the part that makes the finish last: the prep. Before any color goes on, the fixture is masked and the room is contained so overspray stays in the work zone. We deep-clean to strip soap film and body oils, fill chips, gouges and rust spots and sand them flat, then etch porcelain or scuff-sand fiberglass so the bonding primer grips. Only then do the acrylic-urethane coats get sprayed. Skip any of that and you get the peeling DIY jobs we end up stripping back across Ortega Park and Raynor. Done right, the surface in these after shots holds its gloss for 10–15 years.

The color in most of these pairs is a clean bright white, which reads well in both the modern condos near Murphy Avenue and the older ranch homes around Washington Park and Sunnyvale West. We can match an off-white or soft neutral when the rest of the bathroom calls for it, and add a slip-resistant texture to a tub floor on request. Want a number for your own fixture? One more thing the photos hide: how much cheaper this is than the alternative. Every fixture above was reglazed for a fraction of what tear-out and replacement would have cost, and the bathroom was back in service in a day or two rather than out of commission for a week.
